Career Technical Education Renovations

A Technology Update

Delaware Valley School District decided to update their Career Technical Education (CTE) building by improving, expanding and upgrading labs. Renovations included a building construction occupations lab with a large covered outdoor work space; an automotive technology lab with six vehicle lifts and an alignment machine; an electrical occupations lab featuring individual work bays and high tech industry trainers; a health occupations lab with an open class area and six simulated nursing units, two exam rooms, hand washing/scrub sink stations, a lab simulation and a life skills training bathroom; a culinary arts lab with individual teaching stations, food preparation zones for cooking and baking, and a small restaurant with an outside entry to allow public access; and an early childhood education lab that doubles as a daycare facility with direct access to outdoor play areas and parent drop-off. State-of-the-art technology was incorporated into each lab while the inclusion of dedicated classrooms for each allowed for observation of proper conduct. Aside from the CTE renovations, the project also included the addition of a new STEM wing including science labs, an engineering classroom with maker space, a CAD lab and an industrial tech shop.
